Fed up
Okay. I have to make some changes. I am so tired of not fitting into anything. I have some great summer clothes that don’t even begin to make it over my fat ass. You want to know what my number one weakness is? Alcohol. For instance, today I had chicken and salad for lunch…oh, and 22oz of Elysian Immortal IPA. Just tried to get on the elliptical and my legs wouldn’t work. I didn’t get past 5 minutes. How pathetic is that? I don’t even like putting clothes on anymore-unless they have an elastic waste-band. I’m sick, sick, sick of it! But am I sick of it enough to change my habits? Not so far. I need incentive. Being thin should be incentive enough, right? Must-give-up-beer. *sigh*
Just finished an interesting book called American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It’s about the secularization of America, as far as I could tell. About ancient Gods invented by ancient people who were brought over to the new land then gradually abandoned. Interesting. Gaiman’s writing was very engaging. This is the first of his books I have read and can say I would not be averse to read any of his other works. The story was chock full of imagery, satire, and irony. Not sure about the ending though. Maybe I didn’t understand some of the imagery.
Watched a couple movies over the weekend: Crazy Heart and An Education. Both were good. I’m glad Jeff Bridges won Best Actor. He has been around a long time and deserved the honor. I have to say, the best movie I have seen this year, is Lovely Bones. Heard about it when I watched the Oscars. Really remarkable. I love movies that make you think. I have always leaned more toward character studies over action/adventure. For instance, I found Sherlock Holmes rather boring. And I don’t have much desire to watch Iron Man II. Probably will though, with hubby. I’m a huge M. Night Shyamalan (sp?) fan and am looking forward to The Last Airbender. And I will no doubt be attending the midnight showing of Eclipse as I am a huge fan of the books.
My hubby has been gone all day picking up his son from his ex-wifes house. Trevor will be with us for the summer. Should be fun! He will be 15 this August. They just pulled into the driveway. Must be off!
